Equipment Principle

The leaf spring quenching furnace is usually used in conjunction with a heating furnace. After the workpiece is heated to the austenitizing temperature in the heating furnace, it is quickly transferred to the quenching furnace for cooling. The core of the quenching furnace is the circulation system and temperature control system of the quenching medium. The temperature of the workpiece is sharply reduced through liquid or gaseous medium to form martensite or bainite structure and improve the hardness of the steel.

Common quenching media include:
 

 

Water

Fast cooling speed, suitable for carbon steel, but prone to quenching cracks.

Oil

Moderate cooling speed, suitable for alloy steel quenching, small deformation.

Polymer solution (PAG)

Controllable cooling, environmentally friendly, high safety, increasingly used in modern spring quenching.

Gas (gas quenching furnace)

mostly used in high-end special process occasions, high cost.

 

 

Main types

 

 

Trough quenching furnace
After the workpiece enters the furnace through a manipulator or a conveyor belt, it is directly quenched into the quenching medium in the trough. It has a simple structure and is suitable for small and medium-sized leaf spring production lines.


Continuous quenching furnace
It forms an automatic production line, seamlessly connected with the heating furnace and tempering furnace, to achieve continuous and streamlined operation, suitable for large-scale automated production.

The leaf spring quenching furnace usually includes the following parts:
Furnace structure:

made of high temperature resistant and corrosion resistant materials to ensure the durability of the equipment;


Quenching medium tank:

size and spraying method are designed according to cooling requirements;


Circulation and cooling system:

maintain uniform temperature of the medium to prevent overheating or local overcooling;
 

Transmission system:
